On 17 October, the Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies at the College of Europe hosted a roundtable on ‘EU Digital Diplomacy’.

The first panel focused on the EU’s digital diplomacy strategy: the new international digital strategy and cyber diplomacy as a specific part of it. The second panel addressed the use of AI and other digital tools in diplomatic practice and how the EU’s conflict prevention and peace mediation objectives can both be furthered by the use of digital technologies whilst also demanding a proactive EU stance on ensuring tech safety by design. 

Sorina Teleanu, Diplo’s Director of Knowledge, contributed to the second roundtable, discussing the use of AI in diplomacy.
