Event update
The AI for Good Global Summit is a prominent UN initiative that actively promotes the use of AI to advance various global development priorities, including health, climate, gender equality, inclusive prosperity, and sustainable infrastructure.
This year, over 280 projects showcased the capabilities of AI in advancing the SDGs and addressing the pressing needs of the world. A central focus of the summit was the discussion around AI policy and regulations; given the diversity of AI’s potential roles, a registry for AI applications was suggested along with a research-based global observatory to monitor technological progress and trends. Lastly, ITU and UNESCO will play a central role in assisting present organisations to build capacities in AI-related domains and tackle challenges.
