Kuwaiti-Chinese digital economy talks started discussing the Belt and Road project. The talks were attended by the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development, the Kuwait Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the West Asia and North Africa Department of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chinese Public Diplomacy Association, and the Beijing Embassy in Kuwait. According to Secretary-General of the Secretariat General for Planning and Development Khaled Mahdi, the project based on international standards for globalisation through economic development and artificial intelligence (AI). There is also a link between the Digital Belt and Road Initiative, the green economy and sustainable development, and Kuwait’s development plan (2020-2025). Such initiative further covers many sectors that are consistent with Kuwait Vision 2035, such as upgrading the infrastructure in the fields of transport, energy, information technology, and utility connection projects. Additionally, it is consistent with Kuwaiti development priorities in terms of stimulating economic growth, industrialisation, increasing intra-trade, and economic integration.
